A Wild Magnet Tease: Annual Passholders, get ready to go wild – a new Passholder-exclusive magnet is on the way, and this one is all about Zootopia. Disney recently dropped a teaser for the next complimentary Passholder magnet, and fans are buzzing with excitement. The sneak peek arrived via the WDW Annual Passholders Instagram account, which shared a short video featuring silhouetted dancing animals in a distinctly Zootopia-esque style. The teaser didn’t explicitly name the characters, but the colorful art style and familiar shapes have everyone guessing which residents of Zootopia will grace the magnet.
Clues in the Teaser: In the brief animation, a group of Zootopia-style animals dancing is shown – almost like a scene from Gazelle’s famous concert in the film. This has led many to speculate that the magnet could feature Gazelle, the pop star character voiced by Shakira, known for her upbeat anthems. Gazelle’s inclusion would make sense given the dance-party vibe of the teaser. However, Disney has not confirmed the character yet, and fans have tossed around other possibilities too. Could we see Judy Hopps, the energetic bunny cop, showing off some dance moves? Or maybe the ever-cool Nick Wilde? The teaser leaves room for interpretation, and Disney is clearly having fun keeping us guessing.
Why Zootopia, Why Now?: The timing of a Zootopia-themed magnet isn’t random. Walt Disney World tends to sync up Passholder perks with what’s new and exciting in the parks, and Zootopia is having a moment. Just a couple of months ago, Disney’s Animal Kingdom debuted “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!”, a brand-new 4D show in the Tree of Life theater. That attraction brings the world of Zootopia to the park in a big way, complete with Judy, Nick, and even a musical finale by Gazelle. Given Zootopia’s fresh presence at Animal Kingdom, it’s a clever tie-in to offer a themed magnet – perhaps even distributed at Animal Kingdom itself rather than the usual spot in EPCOT. Disney hasn’t announced distribution details, but the Animal Kingdom connection suggests we might be heading to Discovery Island to pick up this magnet when it’s released.
Passholder Magnet Traditions: For those new to the fun, Annual Passholder magnets are a beloved perk at Disney World. These free collectible magnets, typically released a few times a year, feature different characters or themes and are available exclusively to Passholders. In the past, Disney has featured everything from Figment to Orange Bird to Stitch on these magnets, often tying them to festivals or new attractions. They’ve become bona fide collectibles – many Passholder cars in Florida proudly display an array of magnets like badges of Disney honor. The Zootopia magnet will be the first new design of 2026, and expectations are high, especially since this is a departure from the usual Mickey and friends.
What We Don’t Know (Yet): Disney is keeping some details under wraps for now. No official artwork or specific character has been confirmed beyond the teaser silhouettes. We also don’t have the exact date the magnet will be available, or the pickup location (EPCOT has been the go-to for magnet distribution in recent years, but again, Animal Kingdom could be in play this time). What we do know is that once announced, the magnet will likely be available for a limited window (usually a few weeks) and in limited quantities – when magnets are gone, they’re gone. Passholders will need to have their Annual Pass and photo ID to claim one.
Fan Buzz: The Passholder community is already chattering about this magnet. Zootopia has a lot of fans, and it’s relatively rare for Disney to spotlight this franchise in the parks – making this magnet extra special. Some are hoping the design will feature Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde together, perhaps posing with their police badges. Others lean towards Gazelle, given the dance theme, imagining a sparkly, concert-like design. A fun theory is that maybe the magnet could even be lenticular or holographic to mimic movement (that might be a stretch, but one can dream!). Regardless, the consensus is that this magnet is a must-have. It’s also sparking discussion about what other new magnets could appear later in 2026 – with big anniversaries and movie releases on the horizon, there’s no shortage of ideas.
Get Ready to “Zoo” It: So what should Passholders do? Keep your eyes on official Disney channels for the formal announcement. It could come via the MDE (My Disney Experience) app’s Passholder Buzz section – in fact, that’s where Disney first shared the Zootopia teaser art and video. Once Disney reveals the character and dates, plan a visit to snag your magnet. If it is at Animal Kingdom, it’ll be a perfect excuse to also catch the Zootopia show or perhaps the new Moana and Merida meet-and-greets in that park. If it’s at EPCOT, well, the Festival of the Arts will be underway, so you can make a day of it.
One thing’s for sure: Disney knows how to keep its Passholder family excited. A little mystery, a beloved modern movie theme, and the perennial appeal of freebies – it’s a recipe for magic (and maybe a small frenzy at the pickup location!). We’ll be “keeping our tail on the trail” for more info. Until then, as Judy Hopps might say, “Try everything” – or at least, speculate everything!
Until next time, keep believing in magic. — Behind the Wish
