Welcome to Behind the Wish

This is the very first post on the Behind the Wish website and it feels important to pause and acknowledge that. Every business every idea and every journey has a moment where it quietly begins. This is that moment for me.

Behind the Wish was not created because I suddenly discovered Disney. Disney has been part of my life for a long time. What is new is this space. This website. And the decision to step forward and turn years of experience into something I can share more openly and more intentionally.

I am not new to Disney. I am new to building something of my own around it.

For as long as I can remember I have been the person people come to for Disney advice. Friends planning their first trip. Families overwhelmed by options. Couples unsure where to start. Messages would come in asking which hotel made sense what was worth the money how to plan park days and how to stop the whole thing from feeling stressful before it even began.

I never minded. I loved it. Helping people untangle Disney planning felt natural to me. I could see patterns quickly. I understood the systems. I knew where people usually got stuck and what would actually make their trip better. I answered questions thoughtfully and thoroughly often in long messages that covered far more than what was originally asked.

More than once someone said you should really do something with this.

I laughed every time.

Not because the idea was funny but because it felt safer to laugh it off than to admit it mattered to me. I told myself I was just being helpful. That I was not an expert. That there was still more to learn. That someone else would already be doing it better.

What I did not realise at the time was that I was very good at encouraging others while quietly holding myself back.

Behind the Wish exists because I finally stopped doing that.

This website is not the result of sudden confidence or a perfectly timed plan. It is the result of deciding that waiting until everything felt finished and flawless would mean never starting at all. I am experienced with Disney. I am comfortable with the planning side. What I am learning now is the business side. The building. The showing up. The putting something into the world and letting it grow.

I want to be honest about that from the beginning.

Behind the Wish is not a giant operation. There is no big team or glossy corporate structure. It is me. One person doing their best to turn years of behind the scenes knowledge into something useful and accessible. If you have ever been on a Disney support chat and thought that answer actually made sense there is a very good chance that was me. This site is simply where all of that experience finally lives in one place.

I know Disney well. I understand how quickly it changes. I understand how confusing it can feel when systems update rules shift and options multiply. I also understand how magical it can be when everything clicks into place and you stop worrying and start enjoying.

What I am learning now is how to build something sustainable around that knowledge. How to share it clearly. How to grow responsibly. How to make this work not just as an idea but as something long lasting.

This is the start of a journey. Not into Disney but into building something meaningful from what I already know.

There will be learning curves. There will be moments where I refine things and moments where I realise there is a better way to do something. I am not pretending otherwise. What I can promise is commitment. I am determined to make Behind the Wish succeed. For me because this matters deeply. And for you because if you are here reading this you deserve something thoughtful reliable and genuinely helpful.

This blog will be where that unfolds.

Here you will find the latest Disney news planning tips and magical moments shared in a way that feels human rather than overwhelming. You will find explanations that make sense without overcomplicating things. You will find honest conversations about what is worth prioritising and what is perfectly fine to let go of.

You will also find reminders that Disney magic is not only found in attractions and fireworks. Sometimes it is found in knowing when to slow down. In choosing rest over rushing. In understanding enough to stop worrying.

I want Behind the Wish to feel like the friend you text when you need clarity. The calm voice that helps you step back and remember why you wanted to plan a Disney trip in the first place. Not everything needs to be done. Not everything needs to be booked. The goal is not perfection. The goal is connection and memories that feel good long after you return home.

There will be light humour here because Disney planning without humour is a dangerous place to live. There will be honesty because pretending everything is effortless helps no one. And there will always be heart because this is something I care about deeply.

Behind the Wish is about the work that happens before the magic. The thinking. The questions. The small decisions that shape a trip in ways you often only understand afterwards. It is about pulling back the curtain just enough to help you feel confident without losing the wonder.

I know I still have things to learn on the business side of this. I am open about that. I am excited by it. And I am determined to keep learning so that this space continues to grow in the right direction.
