For years, Disneyland guests have been enchanted (and hilariously roasted) by the Evil Queen from Snow White – thanks largely to one particularly witty cast member whose in-character sass made countless viral videos. After an eight-year reign bringing villainous comedy to life, that performer, Sabrina Von B., has confirmed she’s hung up the crown for good. Fans had speculated about her status since a Halloween video showed the Queen hinting at leaving, which promptly blew up online. When the Queen vanished from the park soon after, many feared Disney had banished her for “upsetting the Mouse” by breaking character.
It turns out the real story is a bit different – and very Disney. In a new interview, Sabrina revealed that her internet fame became a double-edged sword. As her quips and “diva energy” spread across TikTok and YouTube, some overzealous fans tried to discover the face behind the Queen. Disney strictly guards the illusion (or as they say, “protects the magic”), so having guests calling the Evil Queen by her real name was a royal problem. According to Sabrina, the company ultimately let her go once her identity started coming out – not because she did anything wrong on the job, but because her popularity made it impossible to keep character and performer separate.
Only after Disney showed her the door did Sabrina finally confirm on TikTok that she was the famous Evil Queen – a video that quickly amassed over 6.5 million views from stunned fans. In heartfelt comments, she shared how much it meant to bring smiles (and snark) to so many visitors. “I did my own spin on a character that wasn’t really popular... and make people smile, all while being a villain,” she told People. While she’s sad to leave the role she adored, Sabrina is “very flattered and happy” knowing she helped people love a classic baddie. Now, as she humorously put it, she’s learning to live “outside of the mouse” – but her legacy lives on in countless viral clips and memories.
For Disneyland park-goers, the Evil Queen will still appear (Disney can always cast another face under that cowl). But die-hard fans know it won’t quite be the same without the Queen – the one who could deliver a withering one-liner as sharply as any poisoned apple. We at Behind the Wish salute Sabrina Von B. for making villainy so much fun and wish her a happily-ever-after in whatever kingdom she conquers next.
Until next time, keep believing in magic. — Behind the Wish
